The Big Island is now positioned as one of the main sport fishing destinations. A good reputation it owes much of its diversity of fish present along the north west coast.
For lovers of fishing, the best areas Madagascar include mail bay, Diego Suarez, Nosy Be and the archipelago of Mitsio through the various fish present. In addition to their idyllic, these sites are unpublished playgrounds and contain in themselves a fabulous fishing potential. And fishing pressure is almost nonexistent. Surely one of the best exotic fishing spots in the world.
Among the most popular fish species, there trevally, swordfish and marlin. And the species that could be found vary by month. For example the periods April / May but October / November are ideal for fishing for kingfish. For swordfish, come between mid-April and November!
Anxious to preserve fish resources of fishing in this area, many clubs now have technicians trained in the technique of break (catch & release).

From March to January. tropical depression risks are big in January and February in the region Nosy Be.
